Once in earshot:
Q: Did you shoot any geese, senator?
A: thumbs up.
Q: You get any?
A: Everybody got one. Everybody got one.
Q: Why aren't you carrying yours?
A: (laughter) Too lazy.
Q: Heavy?
A: No, still giddy over the Red Sox. It was hard to focus.
Ah, good ol' Kerry the hunter and redsox fan :D
Too bad his knowldge of both subjects doesn't match his enthusiasm...
Unrelated but funny: looks like the democratic party has given us world a new political term, vis-a-vis gerrymandering:
The term gerrymander originated in 1812, when Governor Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts signed a bill giving his own Democratic-Republican Party, which had temporarily come into power, an advantage over the Federalists. One electoral district was shaped so fantastically that it was compared by one Federalist to a salamander. “No,” said another, “better call it a Gerrymander.”

that tendermoments image is going to haunt me for eternity. My psyche will never be able to forget such horror, and if my children ever see it, then it will become a fearful lore that will pass on down for generations thousands of years into the future....gah...that is WRONG on SO MANY LEVELS.

I am curious how PETA is going to react to john kerry in spite of this? They've been ardently supporting him, yet they are absolutely against killing animals for any reason. I've been looking in the news and on PETAs website, and it seems that so far PETA is just pretending that this little event never happened. Thats your typical hippie organization.

Who else are they going to support? There are no other candidates who have a chance at winning. This is a smart move on Kerry's part: he already has the liberal vote because most liberals hate Bush, so he is now free to court the conservative vote.

Pacifists...they're all the same...Thank you for proving my point though :D
Also BTW, kerry isn't convincing any conservatives, in fact quite the opposite, because he has caused the media to raise the public awareness of his very bad hunting and sportsmanship form.

I remember when one of the Princes went hunting and PETA spewed foam from their mouths over that, now a presidential candidate does it and nothing

I contacted PETA with regard to their ignoring Kerry shooting a animal and this is the response I got...
Thank you for contacting PETA about political candidates who engage in blood sports. Please understand that PETA certainly opposes any activity which causes intentional harm to animals, including hunting and fishing.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, educational organization, PETA is prohibited from participating in any political campaigns or endorsing a particular candidate or party. However, we encourage you to contact the candidate or party that you are interested in directly; ask the party representatives for their position on animal rights, and tell the candidate that animal rights issues will influence your vote.
