From the pictures, the Leadtek board isn't equipped with Dual-net (two RJ45 ethernet jacks). :(

The Asus also has SATA RAID and the Leadtek doesn't.

not very reassuring.Chip manufacturer Nvidia is experiencing delays with some versions of the nForce2 chipset, according to several motherboard manufacturers. The nForce2 chipset, which controls the flow of data between a processor and other system components such as the memory, graphics engine, hard disk and other peripherals, was unveiled in July. It comes in two versions--and it appears to be the mostly highly anticipated version that is suffering from delays.
"Unfortunately, Nvidia has delayed the nForce2 schedule again, which will make it tough for us to deliver this year," said one motherboard maker. "We're expecting production in mid-December, which will miss the Christmas rush." Read the full story on ZDNet UK. --Matt Loney, ZDNet UK

looks like limited quantities of new nvidia chips all around, then.

i wonder how big the stock is.

My guess is that Ziff Davis means that the IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor) won't be in production until December. The SPP (System Platform Processor, i.e. no integrated graphics) boards appear to be available this week, at least the boards from LeadTek and ASUStek.

I noticed that ALL nForce2 and AMD 2800 XP press kits were the SPP+MCP-T motherboards. No IGP to be seen. No MCP2 to be seen without FireWire/Dualnet. One might therefore come to the conclusion that the nForce2 IGP was either not available or not desirable in its current quality. Ditto the lower-functionality MCP2.

AFAIK the only nForce2 IGP that NVIDIA showed publicly was those pics on the web when Drew Henry (NVIDIA nForce2 Program Manager) held up a Shuttle nForce XPC. I do not know if that machine was ever powered up, but if even it was, that IGP may have been early silicon and not production worthy.

YMMV

I can verify that you're right on target with that one...Odie ( shuttle's guy ) has informed us that "final" versions ( though not out yet ) will be ready any day now...as for the IGP...you're looking at December...

What kind of computer geek would actually use the GPU anyway? We want the chipset baby! Let the OEM manufacturers wait for the nForce2 w/IGP.

chipset/GPU is the same thing :p you're talking about the integrated graphics.
