How long nvidia will use the GeForce brand?

will they continue with this name forever?

7xxx, 8xxx, 9xxx, Xxxx, 2Xxxx ?

When in the past somebody talked about if keep or not the name geforce for the future gpus i was one of the many who wanted to keep that name.

But now maybe could be the right time to get into new era maybe right with nv50..
what do you think?

I heard a story that, originally, NVidia planned to call the NV10 chip: "G-Force". But Jazz Multimedia (a company in the video card biz) already registered that brand for another product, a Tseng Lab ET6000 that was already dead and buried by the time NV10 came to light.

Instead of trying to buy that name from Jazz, NVidia actually opted for adding a small "e" and so the name GeForce was born.

I guess the same question applies to Radeon and lots of other brands.

I seem to remember reading on the Inquirer that Intel might be considering dropping the Pentium label so I guess things can change, sometimes.
