I still dont understand this......Ive had 3 Dell's in the past PII 333mhz, 933 p3 and a 1.7p4. All of them had an agp slot. how in hell did ya get stuck with a mobo with no agp? Very odd for Dell to sell you something like that even if it was a couple years ago. Was it a mini pc a slimline type or what?

Quite simply, the 3000 model doesn't come with an AGP slot. I suppose it keeps costs down and that's why it's a budget PC. If you're fast and can catch a good sale, you can grab one of these (celeron 2.4GHz, 256MB DDR RAM, Win XP) for about $300 CDN which comes to about $200USD.
It's a really good deal if you can live with the limited upgrade options.

problem solved guys... i found a dell dimension 4600 motherboard with the agp on ebay... thanks for the help!
nice bk. now you can look at real agp cards. my budget vote would go to a radeon 9600 pro.($100) my middle of the line vote would go to the 6800 oc($250) or perhaps the 6600 agp($200) when it is released. Then the 6800 gt (380) and lastly the x800 xt-pe(500-550).
Best of luck.
