Modeline needed for TV (PAL-B)

I cannot get my display fullscreen on the TV and I think its because I don't have a proper modeline. 640x480 (@ 60 Hz)works, but I would like to have 768x576 @ 60Hz (or 50Hz). I simply can't figure out the logic in these modelines and all the warnings in tools like svidtune scare me off.

Come on, SOMEBODY must have a full screen display on a TV....

i've got the same problem. 800x600 is slightly better but still not full screen.

i would appreciate if someone could help me (us) out. i've searched the whole damned (oops) internet for an answer, without any results.

included in x is a tool named "xvidtune"

using a normal monitor, you can shift the screen around and you can print the modelines to the console (you run the program in).

All you need to do is to add them to the config

Maybe if works with a tv-screen as well, give it a shot.
