To Enable HDR Effects-
Add the following to the end of your Far-Cry command line shortcut.
-DEVMODE "r_hdrrendering 7"
It should look similar to this-

Patch 1.3 Change Log-
Fixed a crash with the ForkLift when loading some levels.
Fixed a bug that prevented levels from loading after saving in a previous
level.
Returned surround 5.1 sound option to the menu.
Fixed a mounted weapon traverse problem.
Fixed problems related to shaders1.pak and scripts1.pak not being removed on
installation of the patch.
Fixed a delay relating to tagging enemies in binocular mode.
Normal Map Compression for GeforceFX or better Nvidia cards.
SM 3.0 and SM 2.0x are now enabled by default when graphics settings are set to ‘Very High’. To see performance increases you must have Direct X 9.0c
installed.
Improved tangent-space calculation to improve bumpmap quality.
Anisotropic filtering disabled for some textures (light-maps, several lookup
textures, fall-off maps) for increased performance.
Improved syncronization in multiplayer.
Fixed bug in leaning with different player classes.
Fixed an invisible wall exploit in mp_freighter.

Ack, doesn't look like this patch is compatible with version 1.2 compatible savegames. :fu:

Oh well, I'll be with DMA in happy 3DC land. Woo.

i;d give hdr a shot...but I forgot the command to type into the console....=/ How's 3dc lookin guys? Post some pics if u get a chance =)

Yes now im very excited too see if the graphcis will improve because they looked the same in 1.2 when i went from a ****ty gf4 and that sucked.

r_HDRRendering 1 I believe... haven't used it yet though... fixing to install the patch right now.

hey, what was the original command for sm3.0 ..something like r_sm30 or something? Anyone know? I took it off but sm3.0 doesnt seem to be working "automactically" like the patch said it would...i;ve noticed some big dips in performance.

Well... if I put up screenshots it will just show how they screwed up again. Because for whatever reason many things are either completely invisible (most walls) or some things are ALMOST invisible (most models)... glad the recalled 1.2 patch was better. From what I could see through the walls the lighting did look interesting though. I guess they made all walls see through so you don't have to go through the level just to see HDR :\.

Make sure AA is off. Turn everything to very high, water to Ultra if you like nice looking water ;)

Holy performance drop Batman! Running HDR on a 6800 GT is like running dx9 on a 5900 Ultra. Still looks nice though. If I remember correctly, they said to re-load the level after playing through it and performance would increase some.

Ok... I guess it was because I had AA enabled :\... It does look great but I still wish the displacement mapping would have been added.

I am going to be playing through the other levels soon... I just tried Training and it is crazy when you look outside because you can't see ANYTHING basically... you have to wait a second to wait for your eyes to adjust :\.

For those who don't know, there's apparently 11 different HDR effetcs...change "r_hdrrendering 1" to "r_hdrrendering 2"(,3,4 and so on to 11) Apparently ubi says "r_hdrrendering 7" looks the best. If anyone can take pics of the different types it would be appreciated.
