6800, Forceware 66,81 and temp indicators

Hello ppl. My problem may seem silly but I would be extremely happy if you could help me sort this out. There goes: Bought an Asus V9999/TD (plain 6800). I installed the Asus optimized drivers first, along with that really cool Smartdoctor that monitors temps, voltages and fan speeds. Since I moved on to Forceware 66.81, I can't find the temperatures TAB in the 6800 properties!!! Shouldn't they be right there somewhere between all the quality, nview and o/c settings? Any clues? Smartdoctor can no longer be installed since I'm not using Asus drivers anymore. Please help :)

Just guessing here, but Asus probly uses there own harware monitoring controller that can't be detected by Nvidia's software. Asus was monitoring voltage and temp before the graphics companies integrated into the chips.

SpeedFan may be able to pick them up. It finds both core and ambient temps on my Gainward 6800GT.

i read before that u need to use the asus program to monitor the temp.
