This guy at guru3d has got a BFG 6800NU and ive got a BFG 6800U and he gets the same score as me in 3dmark03.

Do the 6800NU overclock higher than Ultra's?

Look here:http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?threadid=111483

Im definitly not getting the full power out of my card.

My card runs amazing but if this guy can get a score like that in 3dmark03 im sure i could get at least 13K

Please help.

I've got a BFG 5900NU and score just as high as everyone with a 5950U. Its similar in your case. Those two cards are basically the same.

If he unlocked the pipes/vertex units, Entirely possible to see this happen at similar clock speeds where your framebuffer isnt being affected.

DJ, with an ultra, you are likely to get a little more juice out of the core and memory. But at this very moment you shouldn't even need it. That card has plenty of power for today's games. Heck, even my computer still plays today's games pretty well.

If i install Rivatuner is easy enough to find out if everything is unlocked and being used to their full potential on my 6800U

Ive never used rivatuner before so if you could help that would be great!!

Its not that my card performs bad or anything its just i see people with GT's and NU's getting much better results than me and im just abit concerned :)

Cheers for any help.

DJ: Before jumping to any conclusions, what else is in your system? CPU, RAM, etc...? It CAN make a huge difference. Aside from that, the guy's score has now been edited out. What was it precisely. And, what is yours? Again, 3dMark really doesn't matter. Are you happy with how you can play current games? If so, what're you worried about?

Here's everything thats in my rig:

CPU Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz HT
Memory 512 MB DDR RAM - PC2700
Memory 512 MB DDR RAM - PC3200 (installed after system was bought)
Motherboard TriGem IT865GE (MS 6743)
Hard Drive 160GB UDMA hard drive & 160GB External
CD / DVD Drive 16 x DVD-ROM Google Search
CD / DVD Drive 52x CD-RW
Video / Graphics Card BFG 6800 Ultra oc (256 MB) @ stock speeds
Sound Card Soundblaster Live 5.1 Digital
Ports Advent D1 / TG-IT865GE ports information
BT Broadband ADSL Voyager Modem
PSU 550 Watt
Windows XP Home
Norton Antivirus & AVG Virus scan
Bios Award_Phoenix_Advent_MS6743_generic.swf

I get in 3dmark03 11400 and the guy on guru3d got about the same.

Im very happy with my games performance. Doom 3 hardly ever dips below 60fps and far cry runs great apart from certain outdoor areas which can go down to 25fps but ive been told my CPU is causing that??

The game im playing now is CS:S which runs great but i dont get more than 85fps in the stress test and some GT owners get over 100fps??

Hope this helps

Well, it does look to me like you should be doing a bit better, but, again, if it's doing well enough as it is in games then I see no reason to stress.

Hmm, I Think the guy might be blowing smoke... even if he OC's and unlocks the pipes he shouldn't really be getting that good with a P4 2.8 (2.4OC), or atleast you should be close to my score with your system set up...

Have you got the CS:S stress test? If so what do you score???

If i get about 4500 - 5K in 3dmark05 i'll assume theres nothing wrong!

Thanks

Since one of your memory chips is PC2700 i suppose you run on a pretty low FSB. That will hold back your P4 quite a bit. P4's love high FSB (memory bandwith).
The graphics card itself isn't the problem for sure.
I wouldn't worry too much about it though as long you can play all games smooth at the settings you want.

The PC2700 memory and the fact that you're running two anti-virus programs are what's holding you back. Try getting a second stick of the same type of DDR400 memory and uninstall/disable the anti-virus programs. I've found Norton alone can kill game performance by at least 10% in some cases.

106FPS @ 1600x1200, All High Settings, No AA/AF (Trilinear)

Computer has been on for 5 days now and I have 2 torrents running in the background so I could possibly get better...

I score about 85fps at 1280-1024 all settings on high 4xAA 4xAF. I recon i should be getting 100fps with my setup.

Im gonna install rivatuner and coolbits3d tonight and see if my clock speeds are what their meant to be.

I think they are supposd to be 425-1100. Im not sure about 2D?

My antivirus programs are disabled in every test ive done.

The only time i have them on is while im on the net or playing CS:S online.

Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is that your RAM might be going bad, that was what happened to me and it took about 1000 points off my 3Dmark05 score til I fixed it. You can test it with things like the Windows Memory Diagnostic and Memtest86+ (Google for them if you need them)

Ive just installed FRAPS and its telling me that my 6800U can only run nalu at 18fps. That seems very low!

I installed coolbits3D and my clock speeds are the same for 2D and 3D, 425-1100.

So, from what i can see everything is setup fine just not running as i expected :wtf:

Any ideas please post

|MaguS|

Actually that seems about right, Im bouncing around 19-20FPS during Nalu. Nalu is pretty intensive...

DJMONDY
10-27-04, 11:53 AM
Really!!!???

Ok, Ill run 3dmark05 in a bit to see what i get!

I honestly expected nalu to run alot higher than 20fps.

In collbits3d its got max frames to render ahead. Ive set it to 0. Whats it do and whats the recommended setting for it??

Thanks
