I tried played the "Step Into Liquid" WMV HD video in Media Player Classic and there is no audio at all. Using Windows Media Player 9 the audio is present, but I would like to get it working in MPC (since it plays a lot better). Do I need an audio codec for it to work in MPC? Or perhaps I need to do some configuration. Thanks.

I THINK you can only play it in WMP 9 since it WMVHD is designed for 9. I remember having that problem before also. :)

Yeah, WPC is pretty old, I don't think it supports WMDVHD.

Media Player Classic is constantly updated... its not the old media player 6.4 it used to be... I just figured it would work oh well.

Um... I can play WMVHD in MPC fine. Well, if you don't count stuttering sound and dropped frames as bad - (That's my CPU though, in fairness). In fact, it gives me significantly better playback than WMP 10. I can't remember doing anything special to it. Maybe it's that I've got the most recent version of FFDSHOW installed? That "supports" (incompletely) WMV3.

EDIT: I'm using MPC V 6.4.7.5 if that helps.

EDIT II: The current version on the sourceforge homepage is 6.4.8.2. Just in case you didn't know.

EDIT III (The Return of the Edit!): Gib: I can play WMVHD in:
MPC, WMP10, VLC 0.8 (Alpha release), and WinAMP. It plays in heeeeaps of stuff.

Have you installed any codec packs at all?

I've installed:

MPC 6.4.8.2
Tsunami Filter Codec Pack (latest)
Divx (latest)
XVid (latest)
AC3 filter
Matrix filter
Quicktime ALternative
Real Alternative

Yep, as I say FFDShow is the main one, though I also have Xvid, DivX, QT alternative and Real Alternative. If you're going to use FFDShow you want the current Alpha release, not the current official (which as I recall is like, 2 years old). FFDShow is VERY good and quite comprehensive.
