wow, some good news for Jordan: Toyota is going to supply engines for Jordan, whilst ATI has also partnered with the team: http://www.tsn.ca/auto_racing/formula_one/news_story.asp?ID=102955&hubName=auto_racing-formula_one

Renault regrets signing JV, but Sauber doesn't. it was kinda stupid to sign a driver after a year off and think he'd achieve instant success. hopefully, next season, JV can do better and prove his critics wrong: http://www.tsn.ca/auto_racing/formula_one/news_story.asp?ID=102956&hubName=auto_racing-formula_one

in another comeback bid, Hakkinen may drive for Williams, who need a proven driver who has won before, and knows what it takes to do so again: http://f1.racing-live.com/en/index.html?http://f1.racing-live.com/en/headlines/news/detail/041021224744.shtml

Has the new rules system valid yet?
Or are they still using the the same as last year?

apparently, F1 plans on holding practice sessions only on Friday, with pre-qualifying session on Saturday afternoon, which will determine the order for race qualifying to be held on Sunday morning, before the race. single flying lap, reverse order, as in the present system. the change prolongs the suspense of qualifying, and i don't mind the single lap system.

some changes:
Among the new rules taking effect next year are changes to the bodywork (aerodynamics) to raise the front wing, bring the rear wing forward, reduce the diffuser height and cut back the bodywork in front of the rear wheels. The move is expected to result in a 20-percent cut in downforce with minimal loss of drag.

Also teams will be restricted to one set of tires for qualifying and race day, which should result in a harder tire being produced and a reduction in cornering speeds.

Engines will also have to last two Grand Prix weekends, instead of the current one weekend.
i think the FIA plans on changing engines to 2.4 litre V8 engines from the current 3-litre V10 powerplants in 2006, but that's still up in the air.

Ecclestone vs Grand Prix World Championship, the grudge match. money, as usual, is at the centre of the issue--who gets what and how much, how tiresome. will this ever be resolved? who would watch F1 if all the major teams left?:
