View Full Version : Oc with air cooling

I want to oc my P4 2.6 to 3.0.
I'm positive the cpu can take it, but I would like to know if air cooling is enough for this oc (maybe it's too much?)?
And if so, which air cooling solution do you suggest?

Yes, 400MHz can easily be done on air from what I've seen. A friend of mine overclocks his P4 3.0 to 3.6 on a Zalman 7000cu.

Check sig, no special cooling used.
Does 3.4GHz but ram can't follow. No special cooling.

I've got my 2.8C @ 3.5Ghz on retail HSF/Asus P4C800-E Deluxe :)

I oced my 2.6 to 3.0 (150x20) and my ram is working on 402MHz. I also lowered the timings from 3-4-4-8 to 2.5-3-3-6. I have 2 512 sticks.
Is that ok? Do you forsee any problems for me?
Edit: Windows was giving me errors, so I reset the mem timing to default. Does bringing up the voltage for both CPU and RAM will help for stability?
By say, 0.1? Or does this require additional cooling?

I got mine @ 1.6v just because. It doesn't run but 1-2c higher than stock, so in my case (literally) it's ok. :)
