Well for the past few days when I download something... it doesn't bring up a status window or anything... even going to Tools and then Downloads and it refuses to bring up the window :\... I am really getting tired of not knowing when my stuff is finished/if it is going anywhere :\.

Try pressing Ctrl+J , or just reinstall firefox , FF download capabilitys are not very reliable, i found that useing Flashget plus Firefox plugin is best thing ever.

Yeah I have tried that also already... guess I will reinstall later... all of my extensions and theme will stay put right? :\.
i noticed some flakeyness on the download manager too..
also, I notice when someone just links to a movie file, say, an avi, that loads in windows media player , Firefox would go download it all first, then autoload windows media player to play the vid..
vs IE would just oen windows media player immediately, and let WMP handle the download/buffer the file.

Use IE. :)
yea.. I was trying out Firefox.. I liked the tabbed browsing, helps keep the # of windows down to a sane amount..
oh, and I notice there's a tabbed browsing vulnerability in Firefox.. dun dun dun dun!!!!
