View Full Version : I want to do OCZ.

They just recieved my RMA today (you may recall me bitching about my RAM not achieving 500MHz) and have informed me they'll be shipping me back 1 gig of OCZ PC3200 Platinum 2-2-2-5. Hooray! Now, if anyone here with a similar setup as me (I'm looking at Pain and Riptide here) can refresh my memory as to how these sticks perform, that'd be super. Whoopee!

Well I know circuitbreaker and myself have no problems getting 250x10 1:1 @ 2.5-3-3-8. I'm even doing it with a mere 2.7v.

I have Mushkin 1GB BH-6 i just bought 3500 90 Winchester and i was looking at buying this ram.Do you think this OCZ memory is better to overclock then the BH-6?

Well if there's any indicator AFAIK the PC3700EL (2-3-3-8) uses the same TCCD chips that the 3200EL uses. And that PC3700EL is some insane RAM. :)

So yes I would prefer the OCZ over the BH6 but I admittedly haven't had the chance to compare the two side by side.

I just bought the combo deal from Monarch MSI K8Neo2,3500 Winchester and the 1GB of OCZ 3200 .I hope i can overclock to at least 3800 levels :)

That's only a 200MHz overclock right? That should be achievable without issue.

Yea cool i hope so that's why i bought this ram wish me luck .I'll ask next week for help :)

Yeah, you should be able to do that o/c no problem. I'd go for 2.5 if I were you, my 3500 runs 2.5 no problem.

Cool thnx ninja how did you get to 2.5.What settings did you use for HTT? I have the Thermalright XP-90 with a Panafl fan so i should be good for cooling.

He is probably doing 250x10 (CPU multi 10 x FSB 250) and has HTT set to 4x or 3x.

I can hit 250mhz 1:1 @ 2.5-3-3-6 ( 2.8v ) like riptide said, and usually its at 245x10 ( cpu doesnt like 2.5ghz ) But the most I booted @ with one stick 1:1 was 312. But...it wasnt exactly stable :p Still, 312mhz @ 2.5-4-4-11 aint bad :D

GSkill seems to be getting real popular with the extreme overclockers.

Ok so i put fsb at 240 drop HTT to 4X and use 10 multii and put timings on OCZ ram to 2.5-3-3-10 and i'm set at 3800 levels right.

11-06-04, 09:34 AM
Yes. 240x10=2,400MHz

The RAM will probably run higher than 240 but you'd have to drop the multi down to 9 and try for 266.

11-06-04, 09:52 AM
Ok but at 2.5-3-3-10 i should hit 240 easy right with 10 multi or will i have problems with those timings getting to 2.4.

240 shouldn't be a problem @ 2.5-3-3-10.
