Simple question, hopefully: My motherboard is only rated up to PC2100 DDR RAM. I know that in the past (back in the days of PC133/PC100 RAM) there was no problem with using faster memory in a motherboard that didn't go that high - the memory would just run more slowly. So my question is simply this: If I buy PC3200 (400 Mhz DDR) RAM, will it function properly (at the reduced speed of PC2100 Memory) in my system? I only ask because, weirdly, PC2100 DDR is more expensive than PC2700 or PC3200 memory over here, and I'd quite like to buy another half gig.

I can't think that it would help, but my Motherboard brand/model number is an ASUS P4B533. If I'm right, it's just common policy for RAM to always be downwards compatible?

As a general rule, you shouldnt have any problems.
