Ok, seems like nvidia will be naming nv30, geforcefx, sounds like a good name. They even have a site up already: www.geforcefx.com . I'm hyped. Only four days away from the revelation of the chip... :)

I'm not so sure on the name - also since most of us will have to wait until after christmas i'm not as excited. Christmas week would have been a good time to play with a newly built system as i have a week off work, but after then there is weekdays and leave only afterwards :(.

I'm not shouting at nvidia so much - better to have a decent polished product, but it is frustrating. I'm gonna get a ti 4200 or something for now and hopefully sell that later.

Maybe thats why this whole "Are you ready" thing is so corny, its because it has to match the Name "GeforceFX" in cornyness

Well, I tend to have more time available when I have whole days off than working weekdays where I only get a few hours in the evening.

I think the name is genuine. It's just the site that's BS.

Or someother kind of name that means complete and utter destruction of all that stand in the way

Then again, maybe there are too many people and corporations seeking world domination at the moment  Perhaps a good name would be : DaisyFX: Everyday is Sunny and Happy with Nvidia Graphics in your computer !

The first two versions of the new chip, the GeForce FX 5800 and 5800 Ultra are in production. They will be available in January and will be priced between $399 and $499 at retail.

It'll be very interesting to see how big the GeForce FX boards are. I expect them to about the same size as the Radeon 9700 Pro boards--and will require an external power connector like the Radeon 9700 Pro.

I do think that by late February 2003 we'll see 0.13-micron process version of the ATI R300 chip with GDDR video RAM and substantial increases in both GPU clock speed and memory speed. It'll probably be a bit less expensive than any GeForce FX boards but will offer performance almost equalling the GeForce FX 5800 boards.

I wonder how long it is before we get the first wave of orgasmic fanboy threads based on these tiny little bits of info. You know, the ones that have lots of exclamation marks and start "OMG!". ;) :D

P.S. $499?

If anyone is confused about the www.geforcefx.com domain, just note how the owner of the domain lives only 5 miles from nVidia Headquarters.
