Just heard the sad news today. I have seriously known this guy for probably close to 10 years. He was one of the coolest people I have ever known. Extremely sad news for me and anyone else that knew him.

He was shot on Teusday. I hope that whoever took part in killing Abe now has his brains blown out the back of his skull. Sorry... I'm just really upset right now.

R.I.P. Abraham Simpson. You will be missed.

Here is a few pictures of him in Falluja:

Damn, I'm sorry Jakup. You close friends with him, or just someone you've known? Doesn't make it any less painful of course, just curious.

Well... I used to be very close to him. Throughout Jr. High & gradeschool. I was in Boy Scouts for a few years with him..heh. I haven't talked much to him recently, but I did see him right before he left to the marines. He was really a great guy....

Threads like this sure have a drastic effect on some of the petty crap we squabble over. I'm certainly thankful that there are so many PEOPLE out in the masses that are grateful towards our troops.

I would hate to see anything like previous wars where our troops were debased. I got nothing but love for those people who enlist and risk their lives. If I were in your shoes, I'd be totally honored to have known this guy. I really wish there was more we could do/say for you too.

This kind of stuff isn't easy.

I have so much I would like to say that is nice to you and all that knew him but I just can't get the words out. I can only say God has blessed us with such honorable men like Abraham Simpson. He will be missed indeed.

Jakup, I'm really sorry to hear that. My condolences to those close to him. Whatever my opinion on wars, good soldiers are still heroes.

Yeah, I'm sorry for your loss, but it happens in war...

Abraham Simpson honored us by fighting for his country. We will never forget him, nor the last time we saw him, as he prepared for his journey and waved goodbye and "slipped the surly bonds of earth" to “touch the face of God."

Dear God, that is the most emotional saying IMO that Ronald Reagan has ever said...

Man, that sucks. I feel bad for you and his loved ones. He looked so young also. Despite one's beliefs on the war (for or against) you hate to hear stories of a fallen soldier. Especially when you take into account who they leave behind and how that affects them. I have a few friends that I know of who were or are in Iraq and I wonder about them any time Iraq is mentioned. I too knew them from years back but have lost contact with them as we got older and moved on. Any time a list of killed soldiers goes up, I always look for their names. It sucks.

Sorry for your loss. A big Semper Fi goes out from my heart to a fellow soldier.

Semper Fi comrade.

by A McCurry

Standing in silence, amongst the graves
Hanging at half-staff Old Glory waves
The gun salutes slice through the mid-day
As those who've gathered, bow heads to pray.
The bugle sounds a sad somber tune
For the lives of Soldier's lost too soon
Men and women who answered the call
Serving their country, giving their all.
Caskets draped in the red, white and blue
Honoring our Heroes brave and true
Courageous souls willing to defend
Their beloved nation to the end…

I don't know who is in charge of this:

http://www.fallenheroesmemorial.com/

..but if he doesn't show up on there soon, email them Jakup. Usually they will find out about a soldier, then post him up there and ask for pictures, stories etc.
