I read nvnews all the time, but this is my first post.
I'm building a machine, and I would like some input. I've got this all priced out to 506 bucks. Price seems to fluxuate every day.

Any way, I want a 450 watt psu because I'm getting a 6800 in the mail. (And graphics cards are only going to need more power). Does any body have recomendations for a case and psu for about $70? (Or Cheaper)

Will this memory do OK? any suggestions?

This CPU should be great!

Edit fixed price

I'm leaning towards the KV8 Pro becuase of a review on HARDOCP.

Im sure KV8 Pro is nice motherboard , but way expensive and your getting value other parts , better to keep it constant if cash is a problem get parts in same price range or invest in something that will last longer , socket 754 is ok its cheap , but expensive motherboard is a waist short life span .

Better get NF3 mobo with a separate good quality PSU that will last long (important factor for stability)

You can check out www.directron.com. They have a nice feature where when you select your case you can select from a variety of PSU's to have put in it. My Antec case was supposed to come with a 400W SmartPower PSU when I bought it two years ago. I had Directron put in a 430W TruePower.

so,
Tiger Direct as a Barebones Kit for $500 after 5 rebates. Looks very tempting to me. Only has 500 megs of ram, but there's a tons of stuff in it.

so, here is what I ordered from newegg. I've got an NVIDIA card coming to me free for going to the GPU jackpot. (Something I highly recommend.)
I decided against the tiger direct thing because of the ram, and I wasn't in the mood to fill out 5 rebates.

What is GPU jackpot?

GPU Jackpot (http://developer.nvidia.com/object/gpu_jackpot_2004_presentations.html)

GPU Jackpot was an Nvidia developers relations conference in Las Vegas. $80 registration got you 2 days of training, and a 6th generation NVIDIA Graphics card.

I think they are going to do these yearly. It was a ton of fun, and very informative. NVIDIA's competition doesn't seem to much of anything in place to take care of developers. --unless you happen to be Valve.
