View Full Version : How are the new official, 66.93 drivers?

Do they finally fix up those random freezes that occur when FastWrites is on?

Any IQ and FPS improvments of note?

I want some opinions before I use them over my 61.36

They're working great for me. Some are complaining about slowdowns in certain games, but I haven't had any problems.

Working great on my setup too :) No problems with Doom3, Halo, UT2004, COD, NFSU, NFSU2 demo.

Flatout demo still crashes however. I blame the demo, not the drivers.

Also, the 66.93 drivers have the best 2D/3D IQ I have ever seen of any driver to date. Also, my 3D Mark 2005 score rose to 1300 using these drivers.

Tried them on a TI 4800. Rise of Nations tree shadows blink and Dungeon Seige main menu is blank. Sucks was working with fastwrites too. But Rise of Nations Thrones and Patriots and Dungeon Siege Legends of Aranna do seem to work OK.

Really Bad on my BFG 5950 Ultra. I run windows Media Center, and if I use the Media Center Interface for a few seconds then quit it, 3d games corrupt (screen looks torn, textures flash on and off). If I reboot and don't use the Media Center Interface. Games are fine until I want to watch TV, at which point I will need to reboot if I want to play a game. I went back to 61.77 which does not have this problem. 67.02 also has the problem.

:bash: I'll stick with 61.77 Omega Drivers...... (mag)

The 66.93 set is great for me, however, at the moment I am using the beta 67.02 set. Not much difference, but all my benchmarks (below in sig) were higher with these. The 61.77 set is way slower than almost anything above it. Blah!

So far the greatest drivers, fixed the nasty direct3d flickering for my OCed Chaintech Geforece FX5200 128mb, everything's smooth and nice :D

Still no joy with the video processor not wukkin properly then... my CPU still goes into overdrive and near smoking flaming death when playing mpg' / avi's etc... I don't really care whether it is supposed to realtime decode/encode video streams, it's not especially important to me whether it's on the card or not... what i would like it to do is just work, or in the case of the drivers, atleast gimme the option to disable the blighter. :bash:

I ain't buying nvidia's bloody dvd software either!

Wow ADM!!! THANKS!! I tried the Omega drivers and boy was I happy! The only compelling reason I had to try and upgrade to the later drivers was the "invisible water" problem I was having with hl2 in dx9 mode. Omega drivers fixed this. Plus they are on 61.77 which means I don't have to deal with the 3d "wierdness" problem on 66.93 and 67.02. :spam2:

I love the 66.93s on my 5950 GW Ultra.

66.93s are working great for me. I turned fastwrites on and my system is stable, whereas before I had probs with FW enabled.

Yep everything is great here, no probs

Running these drivers for about a week now and still no problems. Playing HL2, D3, COD, CS:S, SWG even quake3. Everything plays fast and looks great. :)

No problems on the PowerEdge desktop after running them for ~10 days...
