anyone have them yet or heard word from anyone who has them?

I know they're out there so it's only a matter of time, I'd much rather have them right now though. ;)

Keep an eye on the nForcersHQ driver forum:
http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=28&sid=a2af1e518b47e774cca34ee0669d5f3e

Someone will probably post them there before anywhere else. If you see anything, post here, id try them too :)

Are these any good? I see them @ station-drivers.com, would they benefit my nforce2 board?

They work here on my nf2, but the audio driver cranks my volume up to insanely distorted levels in VLC. I have no control over it with vlc or any volume controls. When I found this out, I was wearing headphones and almost pooped myself. WMP and winDVD were fine, and games were fine. I went back to the audio driver from the 5.10 set and everything is back to normal.

OKay, thanks for the input. I don't use the onboard audio (disabled in bios), so hopefully that won't effect me, but we'll see. I'll give them a shot!

Cool, installed with no problems and just as I thought, no sound issues. Must be onboard sound related.

Yeah. I figured you wouldn't have a prob.

Next upgrade I'm gonna get an actual sound card. I havn't had one since my ISA.
The onboard sound these days is just so nice though. It used to be that if you wanted 6 channels you had to get yourself a card.

Yeah, I hear ya. (no pun intended)

I tried the onboard sound, but didn't compare to my sound card, but yes, you are right, onboard sound these days is pretty good.

I know they're out there so it's only a matter of time, I'd much rather have them right now though. ;)I think these are the same ones as Grunt posted above, but they appear to be the 6.31's you're asking about: http://ns30741.ovh.net/~stationd/page/nvidia%20nforce.htm
The site is in French, but if you scroll down to "nForce 1/2/3 Serie" and look under "windows 2000/Xp" you'll see "drivers pack 6.31 multilangues non officiel new". I think those are the ones.

What's the deal on these? Are they for nForce 3 boards? I've been waiting for a new official unified driver release for centuries...

You can get 6.37's here (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=971); the files are newer than the 6.31's.

I'm using 6.39 for my NF3 no problems so far!

I installed the 6.37's for my nf2 board and they work very well. The only thing was I did a fresh install and I had to use the 6.14 ethernet driver because they wouldn't install with the 6.37. Other than that they are rock solid.

Yeah, I just installed the 6.37's today. No problems here.

I used the 6.37 since it came out (2 month's ago) and they really at high quality, even the sounddriver is without any crackle.
Don't forget the nforce chipdriver 2 fix, less -10 C degree, performance is better than without.

What is the nforce chipdriver 2 fix?

911medic
03-10-05, 09:59 PM
Yeah, what is that? A Google of "nforce chipdriver 2 fix" turns up nothing pertinent. Did you mean "nForce2 chip fix" or something like that?
EDIT: Must be this (http://www.tcmagazine.info/modules.php?modid=4&action=show&id=333).

yep, its how to google it...

The wait instructions inside the Nforce 2 chipset been stopped, normally it waits for instructions whom never come, they simplified stopped and the CPU been less in temp.
911medic gives indeed the right link, the fix is a very nice tool, but it never lowers your GPU temp!

Okay I'm gonna try the 6.37s. I'll let you know how they turn out. I'm currently using the official 5.10s so this will be quite a change.

It's the NGO Group nForce 2 c0/c1/c2 cooling patch.

The 6.39 while they will install on nforce1 board work quite well with exception to the ide driver which will cause ~5sec stalls under high load. They are probably tuned for the higher boards which obviously have quite a few differences.

What about the 6.39's on a NForce2 board?

TierMann

Same deal for me with 6.39. (nforce2)
Everything but audio seems to be fine, so still using audio from the 5.10 set.

Okay, cool, I'll give the 6.39's a shot next. Link to 6.39?

Ehm.. noob question, but how do you install all drivers but the audio driver? :o

6.39 gives me sound issues.
