Hi,
i have an Acer Aspire 1703SM running freebsd 5.3RELEASE with an nvidia GeForceFX 5600 Go.
This is what i get from a sysctl -a command:

hw.nvidia.version: NVIDIA FreeBSD x86 NVIDIA Kernel Module 1.0-6113 Mon Aug 2 16:08:32 PDT 2004

The problem is that sometimes images on lcd flick randomly.
Frequency is very low but it's annoying anyway.
I don't experience this behaviour with winxp.

My question is: may this 'bug' lead to some sort of hardware problems?
I mean.. some days ago i had a serius problem with my lcd and i have to change the lcd inverter.
At the time i was using the previous release of freebsd driver, 1.0-6111 and the flickering was more frequent.

Thanks in advance

have the same problem in linux.. many people experience it.
I just lowered the resolution to get by until nvidia releases a patch (unlikely) or the new drivers.

I've read somewhere that this problem can be avoided just changing resolution and then returning to the origininal one, for example with Ctrl + Alt + Plus and then Ctrl + Alt + Minus..
But this seems to me some sort of esoteric spell.. =°)
Anyway using 1024x768 on a 17" LCD that is made to do 1280x1024 is very unpleasant..

However very thanks to developer of this driver. Great work =)
