View Full Version : Help with Leadtek 6800 GT

Gameve finally got around to replacing my "comp-killer" Gainward 6800 GT. Unfortunately, as soon I installed it, there's corruption on the screen everywhere even on the POST screen (i.e. only 25% of the text on the screen comes out correctly instead of a random symbol). Now given that the AGP slot on the MSI k8n neo2 is not very sturdy, is the card DOA or should I try to jiggle it till it works?
Have you tried a different video card? It may be the mobo.
Also did you try the card in a different machine?

I'm running my old Leadtek Geforce 3 on it right now (as I have been for the past 2 months while Gameve has been sitting on their ass). I'll try the 6800 Gt on my friend's computer which I'm building for him.
Im waiting on a 3rd Leadtek A400 GT. First two had the same artifact issues described here. If there's any way to get around this artifact issues let me know, cuz im so not doing a 3rd RMA. I rather try ATI if this next 6800 is toasted.

Man that sucks getting a bad card from leadtek is got to be one in a million, i've also heard the amd's are cooking cards ati/nv cause the agp volts are like 1.8. I've had really good luck with leadteks hardware in the past they have good support don't giove up it's a bitchin card man! I'm running my a400 bios adjustment to 415/1.15 Compared to the x800xt and my bfg gt the leadteks are by far higher quality cards not just the hardware but the bios support/drivers this is the only card where everything runs and looks perfect.
