View Full Version : CS + VSYNC + fps > 60 = WEIRD!

Has anyone noticed this:

I used a program called Reforce to force the maximum refresh rate my monitor can handle on D3D and OpenGL. It works great. Testing Counter-Strike, I went from running it at 60fps (VSYNC on) to 85fps now (that's the max freq. my monitor can handle at 1024x768) so I was very happy running it, very fast and smooth. But when playing cs_militia, I noticed that performing some ledge leaps was a lot more difficult, for instance, climbing to the roof of the house via the front ladder. ???????

That is one of the reasons i leave v-sync off and usually set the maxfps in the game to over 125.

Believe it or not having my fps over 100 when i looking at the ground makes it easier to jump on top of certain boxes in RTCW.

Now for your case i dont understand why the extra 25fps is making it harder?? try it with v-sync off.

Same goes for Q3..If you have maxfps set under or over 120 you cant jump as high..its a weird glitch..

CS engine has a limit of 100fps maximum. It's no use setting fps_max beyond 100.

He's right. That's why it doesn't like my 9700 Pro!
