I have taken some screenshots of Half-Life 2 in 2048x1536 resolutions.

These shots are taken during the first 5 minutes of the gameplay and do not contain any major spoilers. Remember - In order for you to really enjoy these High resolution pictures remember to turn off your browser image-resizer.

Have fun playing the best game ever!

I could not get the game to run with 6xAA in 2046x1536 (think its a limitation to my hardware) However I took some screens in 1600x1200 with 16 AF and 6 AA (the 2048x1536 screens are in 16AF but no AA) and with all other setting on max.

I must say I have a preference for the 1600x1200 with 6AA and 16 AF and luckily, it is good enough for Single Player gaming.

yes actually, i was suprised, Doom3 in that same resolution was not playable, but halflife 2 was very smooth.

I do play on 1600x1200 normally.

I will do a benchmark in the resolution later and i can post it here.

i have this monitor - http://www.sony-cp.com/en/products/crt/f_professional/f520/index.html

awsome picture (and expensive)

Not sure if you can still buy that screen but this screen is also supposed to be good - http://www.eizo.com/support/discontinued/crt/f980.asp

but looks like a really good crt screen is hard to get, since lcd seems to be the future.

this screen howevr looks good and at a reasonable price too - http://www.techdepot.com/pro/product.asp?productID=1130523&info=Tech#tabs

I'm surprised I can still see jaggies. Firgured with that rez, they would have been next to none. :wtf:

No AA? Come on man, what are you, a wimp? Milk that videocard for all it's worth :D

You took screenshots in about the only parts of the game so far where you have TIME to take screenshots ;)

Steam down for anybody else or just me? :\

I knew having to use steam to play the game was going to be gay.

Uhm, what resolution do you run your desktop at? Unless its 2048x1536, then you arent seeing the actual size of the pixels at that resolution

I start feeling giddy when I play at such high resolutions. :(

But still the screenshots look amazing.

And my hate for steam and valve rises. Glad Valve can't seem to get their stuff together :\.

You can do AA at 2048x1536? I remember not being able to do it on my Radeon 9700 Pro.

Well, I COULD, just not smoothly on my ti4200 :D . But whenever I take screenshots to post, I always turn AA/Aniso all the way up so that it's as pretty as it can be. Pics like that make nice backgrounds, not a jaggy in sight. Obviously I'd need a better videocard if I want it to actually be playable at those setting, though ;)

I think someone at Rage3D posted screenshots @ 1920x1080. Widescreen goodness, you actually get to see a lot more of the scene at once, much more cinematic that way.
