hi I purchased it a few weeks ago and have had problems since with video cards overheating, cdrw's ceasing to work, usb hubs going insane. But intel told me its not the motherboard repeatedly, even though it is. Yesterday my comptuter wouldn't start up, it would just stay on the video card specs scene thats the first to load up. I tried the RAM and the video card on other pcs and they work fine. Has anyone had this problem before? I really need help...

yeah but I purchased it as a combo from united micro and they have a testing policy that takes 4-6 weeks. So if I were to send it back when I had gotten it I would have been screwed for the work this semester in animation. As it is I'm just screwed for the final project apparently... I swear to god they should rename Murphy's law after me.

A video-card overheating doesn't really sound like a MB issue.

I have a D850EMV2 I built for my fiancee that uses a 2.26GHZ Northwood B and have absolutely no problems with it. I moved the motherboard box (which has the manual in it) to a storage unit, so I don't have the documentation in front of me. Is there a jumper on the motherboard to clear the bios? I think there should be. If you really want to troubleshoot, download the latest drivers from Intel for the board, format the drive, clear the bios and start with a fresh install of your OS and use those drivers after it completes.

Good luck man. I hope its not the motherboard, because it really is an excellent piece of hardware that I think you will enjoy once it gets sorted.

well 2 things. First I do a lot of heavy load rendering and 3d work, so I probably push graphics cards to thier fullest longer and more often than other people do. No I do not overclock. But I never had a problem with the radeon8500 overheating on my 1.5 ghz and mobo, when I upgraded the board wouldn't last 20 minutes before overheating, so I got an nvidia geforce4 4200 and that lasted a little longer but still probably somewhere around an hour. so I put it next to the window when I was working, which its been freezing, and it would sustain a bit longer 4-5 hours. But no matter what it would overheat, and these are cards that are not overclocked and work fine on other pcs. As for the bios and such I have gone through it, intel sent me this nice little list of things to do to troubleshoot it and to update bios. It didn't do anything and that was 2 weeks ago, but now it doesn't matter becuase the board just doesn't work. Or the cpu doesn't. One or the other becuase as I said nothing loads up, it just shows the specs for the video card and freezes there. There is no way to start up the computer. I'm just gonna send it back to united micro. Hopefully I'll get a working one back. And just an extra 2 cents, this goes for reading reviews as well, don't just read one review or expect that if your friend or something has never had problems with a device that it means all are perfect, just beucase you have the board and it works fine, doesn't mean that there aren't faulty ones, more stable ones, ones that can handle more overclocking on the bus lines.. they're not all perfectly the same.. all I know is I spent alot of money on the mobo combo and its been nothing but trouble...=o(
