View Full Version : Dual boot system has different extension lists

Hello,
I have a dual boot system (Sony laptop with a GeForce 5600Go) running both Windows XP and Fedora Core 2. Drivers on both systems are the latest available and work as expected.

However, when I inspect the extensions available under each OS, I noticed that Linux has the extensions GL_ARB_fragment_shader, GL_ARB_shading_language_100, GL_EXT_Cg_shader, and GL_NV_fragment_progam_shadow available, but these are not available using Windows XP.
This doesn't make sense. Why are the extensions available under Linux, but not XP?

hello,

i'm facing the very same situation here: dual boot machine (XP + fedora core2)
and i'm too missing any high level shader extensions on the Windows side.

OpenGL Version String on Windows gives me: 1.5.0.

i'm using a Quadro FX 1100, so at least it may not be a laptop thing...

unfortunately i'm having no clue as how to solve this problem!

please help. any tiny hint is very welcome :)

For Linux, I use 'dlopen' with libGL.so.1 to get at 'glXGetProcAddress', as the linker wouldn't find this function any other way. I haven't tried this with Windows yet, but it will be well worth finding out.
