View Full Version : Anyone have an ETA on the PCI Express 6800GT's?

Or the intial price? It seems to be a huge conspiracy as none of the website's i've visited seem to have an answer on estimated release date. (or the release date threads were like 2 months old).

Also, do you think the 6800GT PCIe will be plagued with freezing problems like the 6800? I have a PCIe 6600 (vanilla) and it will not run some 3d games, but it will run some others. I think my particular problem is it's an AOpen, and i've found others on the internet who has this AOpen card and has problems with it.

I'm really getting disappointed with Nvidia. My GeForce 4 Ti4200 has served me faithfully for years, but I don't recall these kinds (or number) of problems when it was new. I'd hate to start looking at ATI.

I got lucky and snagged two EVGA 6800 GT PCI Express cards on ebay last week for $925.00 total Shipped. I just got them yesterday and they are indeed the PCI Express 6800 GT w/ SLI Connectors. Just need for the Asus SLI board to be available somewhere now, or the DFI board.

Cards are already available for retail purchase. Go to pricewatch.com I found 8 different places selling various brand pci-e 6800gt's IN STOCK.

I beg to differ, unless you can provide examples. I e-mailed Nvidia, and their suggested search term "6800 PCI" at Pricewatch brings back results that are all out of stock. I'm just now able to respond, but it was like this on 11/19 when you posted your message, too.

Pricewatch is good, but it's not the end-all be-all. Does anyone know of a specific place that the PCIe 6800's are available?
