I did a search and didn't see this asked before so I thought I would post a poll for it.

The BFG Ultra is the best. At least I think so anyway. :)
I would love to have one myself. ;)

Isn't this kind of a pointless thread? I mean, I'm sure everyone's going to pick whatever brand they have. I did. And how is one better than another? Other than the cooling they come with or software they come with, they're all pretty much the same.

well i don't have one yet. Besides, the leadtek one comes with the huge heatsink designed to kill the amazing amounts of heat they put out. Hafta be the coolest one i've seen... (no pun intended)

I disagree that this poll is pointless. I would just like to know who makes the most popular 6800 Ultra. I know some come with better heatsinks, some have a better software bundle, others are factory overclocked and Iíve even read that some have received ultras that donít have 1.6ns DDR3.

Not necessarily... i'd support the best ultra out ther according to my point of view, n the reviews ive read.
I got me a MSI GT Card, coz it had a good review. but MSI Ultras are ranked in "Nothin Great" category!
the best ULtra, according to me, out ther is of LeadTek! followed by Gainward GS! & BFG.

I have to agree. I am pretty impressed with this card. I had 2 different x800's (both@ XT) in my system and then a 6800 GT.
The x800's were silent and the GT with reference cooler just horribly loud.
The Leadtek ULTRA is about as silent as a reference design x800 XT wich is a good thing. It has double the wight though but who cares. :D

Most likely i'll still watercool it to get it inaudible but i am not sure anymore since it's not getting too hot either.

The BFG has a lot going for it.
1.Factory overclocked. 2.Best support I've ever used. 3.Best warrenty.

It uses the Ref Nvidia cooling that works Very well.
Every BFG goes though a lot just to get there stamp on it.

Add it all up and you have the best card. :)

I read on anandtech ASUS's Ultras with single slot cooler runs hotter than the albatron cards with refrence design coolers.
so cant say effective..really
Leadtek has really +ve reviews of the cooler as well as teh card overall..frm almost everyone.
So Leadtek a400 ULTRA is pretty good.

MY XFX6800U superb 2d, default clock of 425/1200, running 450/1200 easely, but I guess its just a good reference model ;)

Is ANY Ultra at 400MHz stock? Every one seems to be 425 so BFG doesn't really have an advantage there..

My Leadtek is 400/1100. Not that it would bother me since it's a great OCer. :D
PNY and POV's run at 400/1100 as well.
Albatron and EVGA too i think. Gainwards non GS too.
I could be wrong but i think it's only a few manufacturers that sell OCed Ultras.

Edit: This card is from July 04. I keep readign about 425mhz clocked Leadteks. Gonna look out for a new bios now. :D

Edit: Just checked Leadtek site: Official specs are 400/1100

Odd - the reviews that I've been reading say that it comes overclocked to 425 as "standard"....

Also, I agree with the person who said that this poll is pointless. Reading the replies so far, most have said that the Leadtek is the best card, yet the poll shows differently.

I assume that this is because most people who have voted have a BFG card - and so, all the poll is showing is which is the most available card...

eVGA is 425 stock, at least mine is which was sold in August.

Yeah i wasn't sure about the EVGA. I searched the web a bit and even the newest Leadtek 6800U bios (Rev 02) is 400/1100.
Looks like Leadtek sent 425/1100 cards to the reviewers and sells em at 400/1100 to the costumer. Somehow i am not surprised. This happenes all the time. Still: :lame:

Yep.... I sure love mine.
BFG makes damn good cards.
They cost a little more but are
well worth it. :)

I like BFG due to all the good things I've been hearing, but personally I prefer Albatron, so I voted for other. I also trust Leadtek enough to use their bios on my POV 6800U. :)
