hello there i just finishe installing the new drivers from nvidia and i notice that when i am trying to run an app that use open gl like some plugin of xmms or mesa gears etc the app crash. any suggestions? my log file of XFree86 has no errors. is something about modules? these apps was working fine before the new drivers. my hardware is stb velocitty 4400 nvidia riva tnt1 chipset:confused:
When you say they crash, what is happening? Do you get a message on the terminal you started them from? (if you aren't starting them from a terminal, do that, it makes this kind of debugging easier) What is that message?
Which motherboard? Which CPU? Is it possible that the memory is iffy? i.e. run memtest86 (www.memtest86.com) on it overnight sometime.
Is anything overclocked at all?
What are you running? What distro/kernel, and driver version? This information would be helpful.
Also, have do you have the kernel module loaded. What is the output of lsmod? This information would be helpful in trying to identify your problem.

I am having a similar problem. The applications that I run do not crash but run very slowly. I mean it is just terrible. I have posted my problem and the glxinfo file, but not much help yet. If I can get some info on this subject it would be great. I am running Redhat 8.0 and have a TNT Vanta.
Thanks
