XP.Help needed please.

My install of XP has a load of crap left over from installs of old programs in the start up section of the startup configuration utility please can someone tell me how to get rid of them.BTW I have searched through the registry under windows current version run once etc and have searched through my harddrive but cannot find where these annoying leftovers lurk any help please.

Not sure if this will help you or not, but my favorite registry editing/cleaning tool is jv16 Power Tools (http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/jv16powertools.shtml). It's fast, effective and totally free.

You can change many different aspects of your registry, including startup programs.
