Be aware that his is the x64 edition, which is not to be confused with 64 - bit edition. They are both true 64-bit windows, except one was made specificaly for Itaniums (64-bit edition) or IA64, and the other for AMD64(x64 edition).

x64 is the trial edition, users who have AMD64 processors will be able to run this. Intel is planning a AMD64rish extention called EM64T for compatibility with Microsoft's new line of 64-bit OS as MS does not intend on supporting IA64 anymore due to AMD64 being far superior in the sence of backwards compatibilty, scalibilty, cost effectiveness, all while delivering equal or even better performance than the overly expensive Itainum hardware and proprietary software designed for IA64.
