Neil Mellor, the young man Houllier and Thompson didn't give much of a chance to make his mark in the Anfield line-up, gave Liverpool a victory over Arsenal today...

hopefully the first of his major baby-steps towards first-place consideration...

this guy has broken all fowler and owen's schoolboy records in goal-scoring...

if he gets his fitness up... he can go places...

Bwahahahahhahahahhahhaahhahahaha

I saw the first half, and Liverpool had deserved their lead. It was late so i slept only to learn after I woke up *smirk* Arse had lost :D

But congrats to Pool. Seems Chels do indeed look more than ever heading for maybe their first championship in ages.

*chortle*

Yeah so I wasn't gonna go out on sunday night, I'd had a good weekend, splent plenty of time with mates, and had hit over draft city from a few purchases for christmas and whatnot. Then liverpool play total football, contained arsenal and out played them. Arsenal can score against anyone at least once, so their goal wasn't a suprise but liverpool have their 3 first choice strikers missing.

Everyone on the pitch played well, but it was gerrard who won the game for us. Him Alonso and Haman in midfield =

Arsenal had no answer, despite having a full defencive lineup a stacked midfield and two of the best strikers in the world up front. That was courage, skill and at times sheer brilliance from the Reds. So well done Neil Mellor and arise Sir Steven Gerrard.

If we don't get some momentum from this I'd be shocked

;)

we're going nowhere fast this season... just like all those previous seasons under GH...

once we get a fit squad and consistent midfield play.. we'll be fine...

kewell needs to be deported back to australia though... he's laid a turd in the last 3-4 matches I've seen him play...

Yeah, but when you consider the midfield 3 of Alonso, Hamman and Gerrard, I think thats pretty spectacular... finding a replacement for Hamman will be essential though. Luis Garcia adds serious depth to attacking options and I think its likley Baros will become prolific before too long... more RVN than Henry, but IMO thats a good thing, RVN is very consistent.

So is Henry. not of late but u get the jist. Baros is more Henry type player who can create things whereas more often that not RVN has and is in good positions to put the goal in the net.
