I have never OC'ed my CPU, but being a gamer, it's time to venture into bolder territory. Both of my main PC's have the (P4, 2.8Ghz HT) Intel 865PE chipset. I'm relatively certain that this chipset can be OC'ed with no problems. What is the best software to use and does anyone have any experience OC'ing the Intel 865 chipset? Also, any idea how much more performance can I expect to gain?

Thanks in advance for your comments..........

What is the best software to use

It's called your BIOS and trial and error. Attempting to use software is a bad idea.

anytime you use software it's not a hardcode change your making - and it usualy doesn't hold. i agree with the above, use the bios if you can. far better.

I 2nd that (xmasgrin)

I'm Overclocking my P4 2.4 to 3.0GHz that's Air cooled by the way.
I could do more but the system stability comes into question.

If your board is actually made by intel then you can't overclock it.
