Well I had this (http://www.multicom-cs.com/multi-com/necmulfp22in.html) monitor a few years ago and used it for a long time, then about a year ago it just went out. I was just thinking about getting it repaired OR repairing it myself (I have no experience with monitors but if it sounds easy enough I may try). What are some common reasons for a monitor to go out and how could I fix them? I would love to use this instead of my little 19 inch :\.

Any help at all? Just a general idea of why some CRTs go out and a way to fix them.

I'd suggest grabing a repair book at your local bookstore.
DO NOT DO IT WITHOUT KNOWING EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
There's a high-voltage anode (What looks like a suction cup) that's essentially a big capacitor. Even after being unplugged it can hold around 25,000 volts and can carry voltage for weeks, months or years. If If you want to work on the monitors insides, I'd suggest discharging it, which is a scary proposition (Because you, like I, probably have no business playing with devices that can easily kill you).
So my suggestion is not to open up your monitor out of a strong sense of self-preservation. But if you're feeling particularily bold, grab a book on how to properly discarge your monitor. It'll involve some alligator clips, an insulated screwdriver or similar wedge device, and some safety goggles in case the CRT implodes.
Some people out there may know what they're doing, but I sure don't and would rather be safe then sorry. Unless you do, you'll probably want to take a similar approach. :)
