We pay the highest amount of tax in the world. Income tax of 47% if you earn $60,000.

This is not counting all the other levys etc...

Now tell me Killer, is $60,000 is that alot for one person? sorry im a bit out of touch, but it doesnt sound like the average? Also whats the GST over there, 11% ? We pay 19.5% here in France, 17.5% in the UK. Whats the income tax on the average income? I know its something like 24% in the UK. Does anyne know the country with the lowest tax?

I believe it is Russia. They passed a flat tax of 13% a year or so ago.

don't some of the mid-eastern countries have NO tax, because they can live off the oil alone?

Isn't it just hilarious (in a brutally ironic sort of sense) that Russia is now less Marxist than the United States?

Plank #2 of the Communist Manifesto: the progressive income tax...

Ya, we in the US need to look at this flat tax model. Also more people are paying thier taxes. The black market had diminished. A lot of good came out if this simple idea.

Actually Canadians pay the highest tax in the world. And we have nothing to show for it.

After about 55,000 dollars Canadian you are paying around 47 -48% and in Quebec the tax is 52% just one more reason for me and Dan to hate the frenchies.

You know what pisses me off the most? Forgein Aid. Everytime I hit a pot hole or have to wait in a hostpital for an insane amount of time I wonder if all those MILLIONS of dollars we give out every year could somehow correct these situations. The two main reasons why I don't belive is giving away cash in

A: My country is far far far from perfect and we need all the money we can get. **** it use it to pay off the ******* defict.

B: Why do we have to pay because (just one example don't freak out) some morons got their hands on Ak-47s and starting killing each other faster than they could with spears and arrows? I mean they ****ed their country up let them fix it.

LMAO! I hate forgein aid also. You think the rest of the world doesn't like the U.S. now, wait till we yank all our forgein aid.

No one mentioned free trade. :/
Aussies would love to get rid of all those tariffs from the US on all goods. IE: Video cards.

You wonder why we have to pay over $1000 for 1 video card?
Do you know why it's more than triple the price that you guys pay in the US?

It's because of all those go damned tariffs.

it can't all be tariffs, what's the rate of exchange between currencies?

1USD = 60 AU cents

That isn't the main problem. It's the tariffs.
I live down here. My Dad along with the many other people I talk to who own a shop also say it's the tariffs.

GST + Conversion factor != triple times the price of the same product in America.

US has tariffs too. How about the 30% tariff on imported steel to protect the paychecks of the CEOs of unprofitable inefficient US steel mills?

That's exactly my point. These tariffs are ruining trade. Screwing the good/bad people. :)

Foreign aid wouldn't be all bad if we had some serious steel-cable-like strings attached. Like measureable reforms toward some sort of representative democracy. Like an end to slavery (still a problem in many African countries -- Islamic countries, for the most part). Of course, that's pretty rare. So when we yank the foreign aid, let's replace it with the Marines. They'll like that even less.

Cheers,
JND
