Does anybody currently own and use USB Gamepads? I've been looking around at Best Buy's web site and they have a Nyko AirFlow Gamepad for about $25. I want to buy one for NFSU2 :) So, if anyone here uses them and could recommend a better one, let me know. Thanks guys.

Oh yeah . . . . . . . (snowcool)

I've read the Logitech RumblePad is pretty decent. I personally use a classic - the original MS Sidewinder. I still have yet to find another pad that's as comfortable or easy to use. Problem is newer games may not necessarily support it any more. :(

I have a Saitek P2500 Rumble Force. It's very good for my use, Pro Evolution Soccer 3 Fifa 2004 etc ;)

The Saitek is nice, IMO. Got one @ BestBuy for like $30.

Where can you buy that adapter? Especially on a US website.

If I'm not mistaken you can cut off the end of it, and find a suitible USB end that will fit into your computer part, and just match up the wires. I'd google to find the diagrams and such if you are up to doing that.

Best Buy had the Logitech Driving Force Pro for $50 on their website at one point. It's made for the PS2, but it's USB and works on the PC.

The Xbox's controller is USB, so you can go out and buy a USB extension cable and an Xbox controller extension cable (MadCatz makes one) and solder together the wires (all except yellow are used IIRC).

That had to be a mistake.. or that was just for the wheel itself... which wouldn't be too bad actually..

the wheel and pedals go for about 100-150 now.. It is basically the best mass market wheel out there now.. any better and you go 2-4x in price just for the wheels itself in the specialty market..

Now for playstation 2 to USB.. there's a few types around.. I got mine at http://www.merconnet.com/ Got my order, but they never gave me any confirmation that my order was sent, which made me worry a bit....

Whatever you get, make sure its Windows XP compat.. some old vers simply don't have drivers for Win Xp.

Thanks ynnek. I'm probably going to go with a PC-made controller just for the heck of it. It's Christmas dang it! I can spend some cash for once in a year! :)

Logitech Rumblepad 2, I use the cordless version and I really recommend it, either cordless or corded. I just received it yesterday, after 1 month of waiting, the gamepad looks like a PS2 gamepad, maybe that's why it's so comfortable :) and it's pretty cheap too, I got it for AU$54 which is about $30-35 US dollars.

I use a friends PS2 pad via a USB adaptor.

Better then any PC version of a pad. Nothing comes close tbh.

The best hands down IMO is to get an adapter and use a PS2 pad.

Sorry for the low quality pic, it was taken with my webcam.

I've used the Logitech Dual Action game pad, gravis, etc, and none of those compete really as far as quality as the PS2 gamepads. They all try to copy it but just can't get the bugs sorted out.

The link is to a Canadian site I ordered mine from. They don't seem to have the two player adapter but this is a link to the single player adapter.

Trust me on this... the rumble pad 2 is everything the ps2 is and more... I got one and cannot believe how much better overall it is than my original sidewinder gamepad

Might be a good competitor to the PS2 game pad but I don't see how it can be better, it's basically a replica. Also, I'm still pissed at Logitech for their "support" for their dual analog pad. It had a bug that would not allow me (and many other users) to save our configuration so EVERY single time I played, I'd have to re-calibrate the damn thing. They may have improved on this with the new rumble pad but because they would not fix this bug, I went and got the PS2 convertor. With the PS2 rumble pads, I never once even had to configure it, responsiveness is flawless, and the analog sticks are top notch.

Does that converter work with normal Playstation Dual Analog controllers? I have a playstation with 2 of those and i dont really get any use out of them at all. For the price of that adapter, I could get both of them going on my computer.

How do they compair to the PS2 controllers? They look identical except they are gray. I remember something about analog buttons on the PS2 controller, but I dont know if that means anything for PC games.

Right now I have a Gravis Gamepad Pro USB which isnt bad at all, but I dont like the big squishy d-pad (i prefer the playstation button pad) and it has no analog sticks.

EDIT: well it looks like it will work with my controller according to the website... but why does it say "Drivers NOT compatible with Windows XP"

Hmm....don't know why it says it doesn't have drivers for Win XP. Mine works and I'm on XP. Maybe the single player one I linked you to isn't from the same manufacturer. Here are a few links to stores that I found have the exact one I have. I also have the driver disk and can e-mail it to you if you have any problems. This one works with XP.

Do any more reputable sites have anything like these? I deffinitely want one for christmas but looking at reseller ratings is a bit scary. baysoftgames has a lifetime rating of 1.71. And Id rather buy from the USA if I could since im on the east coast.

Looks like im going to go with Ebay. They have a bunch of them on there. Theres one like yours for about $14 shipped, and there are other ones called "Super Box4" that are square and seem to do the same exact thing but would cost only $11 shipped. Not sure which one to go with, but Im going to get one. Thanks :)
