Now that ATI felt the heat from the 6800 family cards, they released their new x850 family only PCI e cards.
Should Nvidia now Release a 6900 series cards with both AGP and PCI e.
I think if they did then they'll once more chock ATI.

ATI is just trying to get some attention now that everybody is talking about SLI and nothing else. And it seems to be working, not one of the reviews I read had an X850 XT PE against 2x6800U in SLI, and yet they talk about the X850XT PE being the "fastest money can buy" which is not true.

not to mention that 2 6600GT's in SLI would most probably be cheaper than the X850, yet more powerful still.

I just did the 6900 with my wife. Worth every cent of the $500. (xmastong)

Good point!

You can get two 6800GT SLI for 650-700$ and it's gonna blow the crap out of the X850XT-PE.

Either way its still hardware related ;)

Wait...you had to pay your wife to have sex with you?

I don't think she has an accurate grasp of the word 'wife'.

(snowlol)

And yes I DID see a review of the x850xt pe with SLI 6800Us for comparision.

There ya go. But you'll have to take it with a grain of salt since I already took the shaker.

What da hell..?? X850 XT-PE is faster then x800 xt-pe like 3-5 fps on high resolutions...i think nobody is gonna buy that crap...and i mean nobody who saw previews and reviews... :eek2:

The X850 XT-PE is probably just ganna be more available than the X800 XT-PE

Thus, if you want a car, you'll probably be stuck going for the X850

I was talking with a friend of mine who is in the field of 3D visuals and modeling; he worked in the first X-en by the way.
Now we were chatting about how is the 3D war is raging yet lately nVidia has the upper hand, now according to him he told me that nVidia's 6x00 core will never age as fast as ATI's due to the P.S.3 and the more dynamic programmable core.
Now Iíve owned 2 ATI cards in my life :ill: which I got about 18 months ago.
One of them was the ATI 9700 which Iím glad that I got rid of it and sold it to a friend. :headbang:
Now ATI fan boys just hate nVidia for the following reasons (after all I lived with them for 18 months and trust me, ATI community is the worst ever after Nintendoís)

1- Some of them Hate nVidia because they might got an nVidia card that was defected and they blame nVidia for that out of ignorant.
2- Some hate nVidia because nVidia was responsible for pushing 3DFX out of the market, and they blame nVidia for being better than 3DFX!!!!!!!
3- Some never even had an nVidia card and they just marsh with the stampede of the other camp.

Now I would like to summarize my 18 month experience with ATI in two words:
ATI SUCKS.

They have the worst drivers ever, random system restart, monitors that auto turn off for no reason, crashes and also bad Open GL performance.
Now I have to say that ATI cards perform great in some games but in the other games the cards just wont kick in try Americas Army or never winter night and youíll understand me.
Did I say ATI has the worst drivers?
One more thing that I hate with ATI is that some times they use stupid low quality component on their cards for example my Hercules comes with infenion memory ( hope I wrote that right) which by the way the worst thing that could happen to an overclocker!
Did I say ATI has the worst drivers?

How are there drivers?

My driver works just fine, that is in my Raddy card type thingy. I do seem to have less problems with my many NV cards I've owned but I also enjoy and enjoyed the many ATI one's as well. They both have good products as well as bad. As for drivers, ATI has come such a long way from the dark ages. IF you owned a Rage 128 chipped card you would know what I mean.

Hm, as a previous owner of a Radeon 9800 card I agree with you that in general, OpenGL performance is bad on ATI cards. However, I hardly ever experienced any of the other symptoms you describe. Maybe I was just lucky, and had the right hardware combo.

I went with nVidia this time around, because I wanted greater overall performance and because X800 cards were impossible to obtain around here. (6800GTs were in abundance).

I don't think nVidia has any need for a 6900 card, SLI will let them wear the performance crown for a while yet.

And yes, I'm happy as a clam with my 6800GT.

My 9700 Crad had been in my computer since the days of Cat. 3.4 and with every cat. release ATI fixed something and yet screws another, I hardly recall only 2 or 3 good drivers from them and one of them is the last one the Cat. 4.11

This reminds me of the 5900/5950 x 9800/9800XT (speed wise folks)
Both companies trying to out do the consumer with speed bumps and nothing else.
And no, no 6900 is needed.Let them invest there time and money on SLI and NV50.
My GT is doing quite well indeed.

There will be no refresh from the 6800 accordin inquirer
There is no point for making a new card just for 20-30 hz better clock and little faster mem frequency

SO i guess the next Cpu will be the Geforce 7800 Ultra

Is that the Nv50 ?
I like nVidia's naming seems, but what is after that? They'll get close to Ati's naming.

Why the Nvidia X801^2 GT Diamon Edition of course.

I doubt the next generation will carry the geforce and radeon names. It's time for something new and they're both running out of numbers. Nvidia may keep the "force" part though to remain compliant with nforce and goforce.

My guess is the "X-FORCE" (you gotta have an X these days ;))

Does that include the motherboard and 600W high-quality powersupply?
