Is there a way to make my system limit the upload bandwidth it uses? My cable service is 1.5Mbit\160Kbit so I dont have a lot of upload bandwidth. I have a network with 3 computers (2 win XP, one 98SE) connected to a Router which is connected to my cable modem. When my brother wants to watch videos online while I am playing a game, he simply cant. HL2DM apparently hogs all of the bandwidth so he cant do a thing. When I stop playing the game, he can watch videos just fine. It works the other way around too. If hes watching videos, I cant get any good pings.

Is there a way to limit the usage on each computer (for example, split the bandwidth 70\60\30 for three computers)? It may not be as fast but at least all of the computers would have some bandwidth to do what they need to do.

EDIT: Also, itd be nice if there was a fast, "on the fly" way to do this too. Im usually up a lot later than my brother so when he isnt awake id like to get that bandwidth back to make my online gaming smoother.

There's a program called Net Limiter, try googling it. Don't know if its any good.

Net Limiter will do this for you very well. It's easy to use and setup. It can limit upload and download rates of multiple programs at a time. It's highly useful for limiting your upload rate in P2P apps that like to lower your download rate when you set a low upload rate. So you can use Edonkey 2000 and limit it with netlimiter but leave it unlimited in the program and not get hit with the nasty download rate restrictions. The program also has very useful stats and utilities built in, (WhoIs and other tools)

Mike

P.s other uses that are awsome (limit bit-torrent) Limit WOW Patcher Upload rates, etc.
