View Full Version : Are you impressed or unimpressed by GeForce FX?
I'd have to say, unimpressed being an 03 part. I'd be impressed if it was available around the same time the 9700 or even if it was available now or a month from now, but Q1 03 is too far away... NV shouldn't have let the 9700 go unmatched. IMO, they are going to be in trouble if the R350 is released around the time this sucker hits the shelves.

Somewhere I remeber reading a statement from, I think, someone at ATi saying (and I paraphrase) ".11u is next."

of course that doesn't say anything about what nvidia's next process will be. although i wouldn't be all that surprised if .11 were next. however, it seems very feasible that .09 will be next. CPUs are making that transition next year, from both AMD and Intel.
i certainly don't think that whatever ATI releases this Fall will skip .13 and go to .11, so assuming we see something using something other than .13 in 04 i would expect .09

Unimpressed at all , numbers look good but thats all , i expected more from Nvidia :(
I think its quite good. Games need to catch up with graphic cards. I dont see half of the demonstrated effects in the demos and effects-browser in games.
Till then all I need is a massive speed boost to current cards and luscious demos :p dawn style for entertaiment
Since we dont have numbers and graphs I can only guess GeforceFX would do just that

Stealthawk, I think they meant "next after .13u" not "next after .15u."
In any case, it woudn't be the first time graphics IHV's have opted for an "inbetween" stop gap process. Neither Intel or AMD used the .15u process, going straight from .18u to .13u.
It would seem odd, but it wouldn't be abnormal I guess.

that's why i said i don't think they would skip .13 :D
anyway, given that i don't think we will see any .11 or .09 parts from nvidia or ATI next year, i think they will go to .09 in 2004.

me too i think that they will follow behind the heals of what intel and AMD and be with .09 in early 04
