I'm trying to attach the DVI out on my Q4 980 XGL to my Sony KP57WV700. I just want the obvious stuff to work - displaying the screen without cutting the edges off, ideally with a clear 1080i and 720p output.

I don't know where to begin. Since this card is not very popular, I don't expect to be able to find specific information for this card. Would the steps to make this work be the same for any nVidia card with a DVI out?

I don't even know if I should expect this to work at all.

Check your TV for overscan settings. Alternately, in Windows:

Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Full Screen Device > Full Screen Device > Disable

or

Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Overlay Controls > Zoom Control > Out/In

I can't remember which one of these is the proper control, but these options are on my Quadro NVS here at work and I have no DVI TV here. My 980 XGL is on loan to a friend, so I can't verify it at home either... :(

Am I to believe that in Windows it will just work if I try to configure it in the control panel?

Why is Powerstrip such popular software?
