I have read that there is no support for XVideo when using the TV out feature under Linux.
I have both a Geforce2 and a TNT2 and both of them sort of work when doing XVideo and TV out.
But I get a strange bug. The top of the picture is moved down about 50 pixels and the bottom of the picture is cut and missing.
I'll explain myself. The movie should be:
-------------------- top of the screeen
-------------------- top of the picture (DVD)
-------------------- bottom of the picture
-------------------- bottom of the screen
and that is what I get when using x11 video mode.
But when I use xv mode I get:
-------------------- top of the screeen
-------------------- pink strip
-------------------- top of the picture (DVD)
-------------------- bottom of the picture
-------------------- bottom of the screen
and a stripe about 50 pixels high from the bottom of the picture is missing.
This doesn't happen when using my computer monitor, but it does happen when using my tv. It happens in both cards, so I think it is a problem with the driver.
My questions are:
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Is this what is stopping nvidia from supporting Linux xvideo and TV out at the same time?
How can I report this bug to the guys doing the nvidia drivers for linux?
