Any reason why to time 2-2-2-5?

I set my ram to 2-2-2-5 in the bios because some overclocking expert here mentioned it's a good timing. I loaded up CPUz and the default timing for my first 512 mb PC3200 stick is 2.5-3-3-8, the second 512 mb PC 3200 stick is 2.5-4-4-8. They're both what you call POS generic ram (Hynix and Samsung respectively).

Athlon64 s939 3200+, Asus A8V Deluxe 1.x. Running at 2.1 GHz with FSB at 210 MHz and cpu voltage at 1.475 V. Dunno just fooling around. Everything seems stable.

I finally figured out how to get the CPU multiplier to appear. You have to set CPU Voltage to manual.

If its stable then keep the lower timings... on A64 boards you can get a nice boost in performance

You will need to make sure your BIOS isn't set to autodetect stable timings. That's what it seems to be doing. I doubt you will be able to run those timings with generic RAM though.
