Just thought I'd post some stock non-OC results.

I had a 6800 GT running with a 2000XP. Doom3 was choppy and Aquamark3 gave around 36000 (CPU 4920 GPU 5844). :-(

Finally upgraded to a A64 3400+ on a DFI Lan Party nf3 250gb and OCZ EL Platinum 3200 DDR. Doom3 is fun and Aquamark gives about 60000 (CPU 9883 GPU 8670). :-)

Now I'm gonna start trying to OC a little - I am going to get better fans tomorrow. Right now I'm getting between 46 and 50 C for CPU with the cheesy stock fans. What temp do things become dangerous for the cpu?

Is RivaTuner the best way to start to OC my video?

Yeah that CPU upgrade should see you some nice FPS boost in situations

46-50 is fine. As long as it doesn't cross 55-60'ish :p you should be fine for that CPU

I use Coolbits. Simple and effective.

I use Rivatuner for its monitoring and accessing advanced features of the driver.
