Onboard sound card waht ever is on the board i think its ADI 1980 6-channel codec with a S/PDIF out interface. So does that mean if i hook it up too my 5.1 home theather setup i will get ture 5.1 in games and dvds if they have it???
dont upgrade your processor... buy a new videocard instead....
a new 6600gt or 6800nu will do.. :)
Your processor is fine for every game out there, but your graphics card is not. And that should come first. I would recommend an AGP 6600GT or a Radeon 9800 pro, they both go for about $200. You would be able to play every game at max settings @ 1280x960(or 1024) w/ some AA and AF.
Also, the A7N8X-X and the 2500+ overclock like a dream, so I would recommend buying a new HSF and overclocking 3200+ speeds.
As for the memory thing, you don't need a new stick you need another stick. Don't throw out the old one because 1 gig of memory is necessary for many games to run smoothly.
I think the highest chip that board can support is a 3000+ on a 333FSB. But, its not really worth the upgrade.

Correctamundo! ;) 2500+ can run well over 3000+ or even 3200+ speeds. See my sig.
*edit - BTW that o/c is using stock heatsink/fan (that came with my old 1800+) and arctic silver 5 i've never seen it over 47C.
