As long as it's a PCI-x version you're getting, it will work fine later on in SLI.

I have an AGP 6800GT from XFX and it has served me very well. From what I hear the games bundle includes Doom3 now. (cheers)

i guess im the odd one out, 3 cards from xfx/pine, all 3 died in a week/month after the warranty expired (after a yr)
1 pine gf2 mx400 64mb
2 pine gf3 ti 200 64mb
3 xfx gf4 ti 4200 64mb

lukily 4200 was in warranty, i gav it back, begged for a card of different company. other brand cards hav served me n my friends well. i wont consider pine untill it wuld b the last option available. (sorry but experiences hav made me mad over pine). My asus tnt2 still worx fine.. i guess its 4 yr old card..mayb even more.

i'd suggest, consider a better make!

XFX are better than the average unknown OEM brand and are usually cheap. Said this, there are better brands in the retail channel, if you are willing to pay a premium price

man that sux. My Pine Ti500's fan died on me twice now (since I noticed tearing on the gaming screen and other corruptions in 3d), and card is still going. 1 was the default HSF, and the other is Tt Crystal Orb. I lived in Rez last yr and the place was a dust hole. After that I got fed up, so I took the fan out of Crystal orb, and have a 80mm 3000rpm fan blowing at the card from the side. No more fan failures.

Just purchased a xfx 6600gt agp. overclocks like a champ (600/1200) and runs really cool. Hasen't even so much as hiccuped and I put it through some burn time.

Dude, then, wen geforce3 ti had released, i didnt know grafic cards culd b overcloked. i realised wen geforce4 ti was launched. i learnt/started ovrcloking the gf4 only wen fx cards were out.

i never overcloked the msi card either, it worked well, for 2-3 moths, then all of a sudden, after i quit ssome game, it showed artifacts...whilte/black dots.
and a clouple of lines! i cant say anything abt. msi, coz i havent heard many probs..mi case, the mem must hav got curropted.

but xfx, all my friends here in india hafto buy xfx cards since other companies are not available till very late. and many of us have got these problems.

so i developed this negitivity against XFx/Pine.

Damn. I've put in an order for a XFX 6600GT AGP. I hope I have better luck with it.

My XFX 5700 Ultra dual-DVI runs LCDs very well, but one of the DACs is bad for VGA (no green). Didn't discover that problem for about 6 months since I use only DVI LCDs on that machine except for LAN parties. It's still under warranty, but I'm too lazy to find my receipt to RMA it.

The XFX 6600 series are getting alot of good press, so I'm thinking you should be right.

I know XFX are doing well in Australia as they seem to one of the few getting decent shipments of cards over here long before the competition.
