Ok im not sure where to put this so its going here :p

Yesterday I ordered a motherboard and cpu combo from MonarchComputers. The combo included a MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum motherboard and a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 90nm 939. The combo came with a free copy of FarCry DVD version.

1. The Athlon 64 3200+ 939 90nm is $194 shipped (http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=120422&Category_Code=AMD64) at MonarchComputer and is $200.99 shipped (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=property&DEPA=0) at NewEgg.

2. The MSI K8N NEO 2 Platinum is $139 shipped (http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=110228&Category_Code=A64MB) at MonarchComputer compared to $142.49 shipped (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-468&depa=0) at NewEgg.

Ok so those two points are very small the next few are real big...

3. When I placed my order at MonarchComputer I went with 7-10 day shipping (Yeah Im cheap like that). And today I checked with FedEx to see if it had been shipped. It had been shipped. I noticed that the service MonarchComputer used was FedEx 2 Day  . I asked for 7-10 day, wow. The order should arrive on the 13th of December. Not bad at all. Another thing I would like to point out is that when I placed my order I saw that they said it takes 1-3 days to test the combo and 1-3 to process. All was done in 1 day  .

4. I sent an email to MonarchComputer yesterday after about 9 hours from me ordering. I asked them to make sure that the Athlon 64 3200+ 90nm works with the MSI motherboard and to install the latest bios (1.4). Today at around 11AM I received an email telling me that the motherboard and cpu had already been shipped. I was thinking great gonna have to RMA I bet. Then I continued reading the email: However, we did install the latest BIOS and tested the combination to make sure it works. NICE really NICE!

A++++ service from MonarchComputer.com will definately shop there again!

FYI, now is the time to order since the major small package carriers in the States, UPS & FedEx, temporarily suspend ground shipping around the Christmas Holiday during peak season.

So how does that work? They send you a DVD-R with downloaded Steam files? (xmastong)

Yeah monarch isn't bad. Other than a lack of e-mails when I place orders I haven't had any significant problems come up. My Athlon64 t-shirt is on backorder though. :(

erm dude its just monarch being a regular company. might as well charge a large amount for a high demand product.

simple economics.

Asus stuff is always a lot more expensive. A lot of people consider them the highest quality manufacturer of video cards and motherboards. Thats why its so much more expensive.

Monarch has always done right by me. Just RMA'ed a defective psu this past Monday and will be getting a replacement this coming Monday.

If you want to pay extra get Asus. If you want a good board and save $$$ go with MSI. Other than price the only downside will potentially be the initial drivers for either board.

I know that Asus stuff tends to be more expensive, my complaint about Monarch is that they are only selling the Asus NF4 in their CPU + MB Combo deals.
