IDE Controller cards: does it matter which?

This might be a silly question, but here goes:

I have 2 Ultra ATA controller cards:
SIIG SC-RE4A12
ADAPTEC ASH-1233 (Silicon Image chipset)

I know the SIIG does RAID, but I don't use it, and it is ATA100
I know the ADAPTEC does ATA133

I have all western digital special edition HD's so the ATA100/133 thing isn't a big deal..

Is either of them better than the other one in other respects??

i picked the SIIG, the one that will actually let me boot from my sata OS drive ^_^
