I would like to start a thread comparing AMD Athlon 64 SiSoft Sandra CPU Arithmetic and Multimedia Benchmarks.

Please remember to list your system specs.

Specs In Sig.

Ok.. here is mine - CPU speed of 2.7ghz
*edit* Upgraded to Sisoft 05

My mild system. The specs are in my sig.

I also vote for sticky.

Also, make sure you use Sandra 05 because the results from other versions are not comparable.

The P4 is getting owned: in mem bandwidth by these Athlon64 systems isn't it? :D

Osirus's overclock eats P4 for breakfast.

Hmm...I can't seem to get my CPU to give similar scores as the reference p4 550 CPU, not sure why either. It is significantly lower.

EDIT: Nevermind, fixed it whatever it was, I changed a few random bios settings.

Intel certainly isn't the best anymore, especially when it comes to games. The deal I got on this CPU and motherboard can't be beat anywhere at all though (normally this cpu/mobo combo sells for upwards of $600, I got it for $200,) so the price vs performance rating was through the roof, hence why I bought it :D Plus there isn't any game I can't run yet with all of the graphics options maxxed out, even with 4xfsaa enabled at 1280x1024.

Intel boards seem to be quite reliable though, at least their marketing isn't deceptive about that. Hell, I have overclocked the living crap out of every one of my components (except the CPU and because being an intel board, it wont let you touch those, I can overclock the PCI and PCI-express busses though, and add about 4% to the FSB speed) and I've still yet to see any kind of crash (well except when I put some of the timings well below their limits, in which case the computer just doesn't boot, but when it boots, it runs solid.)

For generic (literally noname) memory I am also doing quite well. Better than all but a few of the reference computers in fact, even overclocked and still stable as a rock.

Not too shabby for a $85 CPU. ;)
