Interesting. The real differences lie more in the temperatures as opposed to overall clock speed. My .13 3500+ overclocks pretty well considering mine was made pretty early in the S939 process. I know it can go higher than the 2430 in my sig, but my memory isn't up to the task. Gonna have to wait at least a month or two before I can upgrade that. :(

Why do you have to upgrade your RAM? There are a few threads here about A64 overclocking and they say it works just as well to overclock the CPU independantly from the RAM.

Because this stuff is PC3700 and it won't run at its rated speed. Highest I can get is DDR450 at 1T or else SuperPi will fail. It wouldn't be a big deal to me if I could get this stuff to run at its rated speed, but no dice. And PMI has been ignoring my e-mails about an RMA so I'm pretty well stuck.
I had tried some Corsair PC3200 and it was stable all the way up to 260 1:1 so I know the memory is the problem. Above 240 1:1 on the RAM I have now, my system won't even POST.

Oh ok... well from what I have read, A64s dont show much (if any) performance difference when using different memory\HTT dividers, so rather than buy new RAM, you could just use a divider to overclock more.
I think this was the guide everyone was linking to a while back:

My HTT is already at 270, but I'm running 6:5 for 225 on my RAM.
