that sucks it isn't a whole new level like the original HL demo was. Ah well.
Oh yeah I remember that one: "Half-Life: Uplink". It was actually pretty good :)
I think someone stole the "news". Delayed?
That news item could not be found in the database.

Well I'm sure glad for this demo, it just helps me to make sure I don't buy it.
That's the first cool thing Valve has done so far wrt HL2, warn potential customers of the sucky experience required to play it. :udawg:

So, if the demo needs steam, then what's all the crap about it preventing piracy? Spyware anyone? Oh, didn't buy the game and won't be downloading this lame ass demo either... :rw:

the demo needs a steam account so that pirates dont look at the code and figure ways around how to get the game to run without it (like they have done already) :)
Yay I can finally try it out, I think im the only person alive who hasnt played HL2 yet.

Actually, I'd say a good majority, above 90%, of the Earth's 7 odd billion haven't played Half Life 2.

If you haven't played it then shut up.
I have no problems with Half Life 2 since the patch. The game runs totally smooth. Back when I did have stuttering it was a little annoying at times (having a 10 second stutter once in a while in the canals) but liveable. The game was still loads of fun. The minor stuttering does not detract from the bulk of the game nor the story.

I hate all people who can run hl2 flawless. i wanna run that too every other game runs for me flawless but not hl2 hell no.
Dled the frekkin demo, tried to install:
C:\Valve\Steam
"Steam needs 3250MB of free space" mmkay thats one big proggy
D:\Valve\Steam
"Steam needs 53MB of free space" mmkay the drive has 48GB free.
So unless I clear up 3500MB of space on C: I cant install this fkin demo. Thanks valve.

Well, it's about time then to burn some of your Pron on DVD-r. (xmasgrin)
Since when does steam need 3 gigs of space? Steam it self is less than 100mb I believe. The only thing that I could see using 3 gigs would be the full version of Half-Life 2.
With this demo you can try the wonderful world of Steam and witness with your own very eyes and ears the dreadful stuttering. :D
As someone said, this demo sums up pretty well the whole "Half Life 2 experience" :p
