Hi,
I've got an HP Workstation xw4200 with an nVidia Quadro FX1300 PCI-e graphics card and a Sony W900 24" wide screen (CRT) monitor.
Under no circumstances can I get a decent (or even semi-decent) picture quality:-(
I've tried just about every resolution and refresh-rate. I've tried using different
DVI-to-VGA "dongles", and a Belkin DVI-VGA cable with no visiable improvement.
What can I do?
Well, I suppose I could blow 1200GBP or so on a nice new 23" inch wide screen TFT w/ DVI inputs, but I don't think the boss would go for it :-(
Has anyone else had any display quality problems with these cards and if so did they solve them? (and HOW?!).
Many thanks,
Timothy Collins.
P.S. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one-and-all!
Which drivers do you use ? Ok, I'm using a GT (Dvi to CRT) right now, not a Quadro, but I've noticed that general IQ varies ALOT from driver to driver. All of 66.xx Forceware result in horrible IQ on my GT. 61.77, 67.03 and 67.20 give me best IQ.

- Do you have the same quality on both ports? Most Quadro cards have two video ports (DVI+DVI or DVI+VGA). My Quadro 980 XGL has dismal VGA on one port and good VGA on the other port. DVI is fine.
- Have you tested the FX 1300 on a digital flat panel? Does the low-quality video persist?
- Have you tested the monitor at the same resolutions on another video card?
- Have you tested the FX 1300 at the same resolutions on another monitor?

After reading your post, I checked.... it was running 65.73. I downloaded the most recent non-beta drivers from nVidia, namely 67.20..... no discernable difference.
The monitor was previously working well (very well) on a PC w/ a 3DLabs Wildcat II 5000 graphics card (AGP).
Additionally, the nVidia _seemed_ ok on my Dell P1130 21" (normal 4:3 aspect ratio CRT).
I think I'm going to try the monitor on PC with an ATI FireGL V3100 and see if
it's "better".
Wish me luck!
Tim.
P.S. Thanks for all the replies I've had so far....

Actually, no I haven't tried the other port... (it's got two DVI ports...) and I do now have another DVI-VGA adapter, so I can try that. I've also got a similarly spec'd machine but with an ATI FireGL V3100 card....
I don't have any flat panel (LCD) displays with DVI inputs... :-(
I suppose that if the worse-comes-to-the-worst, then we'll have to blow a few pounds (dollars!!) on a nice LCD monitor. I know the desinger would like that... however, our manager wont! :-)
Thanks for the suggestions so far...
Cheers.

tldcolli - try the Quadro 70.78 drivers & post back.
